At Knowing Peace we offer a variety of ways to enhance, stimulate, and appeal to those individuals seeking additional modalities of health and self-expression. Futhermore, the classes we offer are available to everyone - not just current clients.
Listed below are the additional classes we offer. We are actively seeking to expand this listing to have a greater range and variety so that an individual finds what they seek.
Music and voice have been used by all cultures from the earliest days to worship, celebrate, and heal. Sound vibrations used with intention is a powerful medium which enhances the self's natural inclination toward health. This unique form of energy work promotes a deep sense of calm and inner preace, reducing stress and tension, allowing negative enery traces to dissipate and release, whether the imbalance resides in the mental, emotional, or physical energetic bodies. Sound healing clears and re-balances the body's energies, enhancing and strengthening each person's natural healing capacities.
Using her voice and a variety of instruments, including quartz crystal singing bowls, wood flute and drum, Pamela gently leads participants into a space of deep relaxation, connection, and a renewed sense of well-being.
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy medicine that promotes stress reduction and deep healing. Reiki incorporates "Rei" meaning universal and "Ki" (or Chi), meaning vital life force that sustains our bodies. Based on the understanding of humans as energy systems, Reiki sustains both the flow of balance and its vulnerability to illness. When our energy flow is full and open we feel animated, healthy and whole. Students are taught to understand the basic energy centers of the body and techniques for clearing blockages, to allow a more open flow of life energy.
This hands on healing technique is gentle, requires no special equipment, and can be practiced on oneself, others and / or animals. While Reiki is grounded in the concept of a universal spiritual wisdom that intuitively guides us, it is not a religion. Formal Reiki training is provided through a trained, experienced, and certified Reiki master in a series of advancing levels. The class is open to anyone with a sincere desire to learn.
Taijiquan (T'ai Chi Ch'uan) is a widely practiced Chinese martial art. Originally developed for self-defense, taiji is now practiced primarily for its health benefits. Taiji uses graceful, controlled movements, and deep concentration to achieve mind-body harmony.
Qigong is a type of exercise that emphasizes deep breathing in simple, stationary postures, and focuses on the cultivation and manipulation of "qi", or life force. Traditional Chinese physicians believe that the flow of qi regulates the health of the body and that obstructed qi will lead to poor health.
Behind every movement is the philosophy of Yin and Yang. Thus every aspect of the movements is kept in balance: soft & hard, mental & physical, internal & external. With regular practice, this balance can eventually be extended to our responses to the daily events of our lives and provide us with a suppleness that will reduce stress and improve our health.
Classes consist of joint-loosening, warm-ups, and learning a series of easy, continuous movements. These movements are designed to strengthen the body, improve balance and coordination and are synchronized with deep breathing. For a flyer, please Click Here.
